About Tom Dwyer

Tom is Founder and Principal of Long Gate Associates. He also directs receivership services for Transwestern. Tom’s career spans over 35-years of varied commercial real estate experience, including asset management, loan underwriting, acquisitions, and property management. Prior to founding Long Gate, Tom was a Managing Director at CWCapital where he led the company’s REO platform, which consisted of a 500-property, $10 Billion portfolio.


Prior to CWCapital, Tom was a Senior Vice President at Allied Capital Corporation where he directed the company’s REO platform. Before joining Allied, he was a loan underwriter at CRIIMI MAE and GMAC-RFC. In addition, Tom has held positions in acquisitions and property management with other firms.


He is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland’s Colvin Institute of Real Estate Development, and has guest lectured at Johns Hopkins, Georgetown University, and American University.
